Growing Floret

Growing Floret is a documentary series made for the Magnolia Network that is available to stream on HBO Max. It tells the story of Floret, a small flower farm in Washington state run by Erin and Chris Benzakein.

I served as the motion graphics designer and animator for season one (2021) and season two (2023). I developed different archival treatments for the program, including parallax and projector effects. Each season also had an extended animation sequence.

Both seasons of the show received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Lifestyle Program.

I was asked by the series creators to develop animated treatments for archival photos to help make them more visually interesting for extended screen time and fit them into the editing narrative. Depending on the situation and material, I leaned into light parallax and projector effects.
